Obituary for Robert F. Ingraham

Robert F. Ingraham
Robert (Bob) Freel Ingraham October 11, 1937 – September 21, 2016 Bob was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska and graduated from High School in Edgemont, South Dakota in 1956. He graduated from Parks Business College in Denver November, 1957. He enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1958 until 1961. Most of that time was spent in Heidelberg, Germany where he worked in the accounting department, met his wife Marie, and played fast-pitch softball with a team who won the NACOM division title (Bob had a lot of fun in the Army!). He attended Covenant College, Shimer College, and graduated from The University of Minnesota.

Bob married Marie Loken of Fairview, South Dakota August 26, 1962. They had five children, Ran Macauly born June 2, 1965 and died shortly after birth. Mark Robert, born May 26, 1966; David Alan, born July 15, 1968, Stephen Melvin, born April 24, 1974; and Rondi Marie, born April 18, 1976. While in Germany, Bob visited Dr. Francis Schaeffer several times, a theologian who founded a ministry called L’abri Fellowship. Dr. Schaeffer was a big influence who later encouraged Bob to attend Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Bob loved to spend simple, but quality time with his family: apple picking, working with leather, wood carving, family game nights, and many fun road trips. He and all three boys were very active in Boy scouts and went on many camp-outs even in the winter. Bob was active in the church. He led youth groups, taught Sunday school classes, and also spent time mentoring those growing in their faith. Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie and children: Mark and Jennifer with children Soren, Merrick, and Rowan, Dallas, TX; David with children Evelyn and Chloe, Denver, CO; Stephen with children Isabella and Samual, St. Louis, MO; Rondi and Greg Raymond with children Wyatt and Pierce of Chicago, IL; his sister, Bobbi Beyersdorf, brother Gary, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service Sun., Sept. 25, 3:00pm at First Free Evangelical Church, 1375 Carman Road, 63021. Interment Mon. 9:00am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Sat. 3-5:00pm at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood.

Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to L’abri Fellowship http://www.labri.org/minn/contact.html or to First Free Church, Youth Scholarship Fund, http://www.efree.org/giving/.
