Obituary for William Bryan Dingler

Rev. William B. Dingler, of Kirkwood, MO, beloved husband of Evelyn, loving father of Sharon (Joseph) Delmore, Brenda (Sandy) Cortopassi, Trina, Stephen and Eric, dearest grandfather to Matthew, Christina, Gwendolyn and Taryn; and great grandfather to Reece, Kacie, Brady, Riley, Henry and Evie; peacefully departed this world on August 5, 2017, at the age of 88. A native of York, PA, and Military Veteran, William met his wife Evelyn while studying at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, before being ordained as a Minister of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) at Concordia Seminary in Springfield IL. With his love, joy, kindness and enduring passion, William journeyed to all parts of the world spreading the Gospel and sowing the seeds for missions in Taiwan and Hong Kong where future generations continue to nurture and prosper from the harvests born. A faithful and dedicated servant to the Lord for more than 50 years, William also worked Stateside in parishes and the International Lutheran Layman’s League before retiring as Director of Interpretation for Lutheran World Relief (LWR) where he joined others in helping stop poverty and human suffering. Beyond retirement, he enjoyed many years as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Services: Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood located at 505 S. Kirkwood Rd, Kirkwood MO, 63122.
