Obituary for Scott Caswell

Scott Caswell
Scott Caswell died Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Scott was born in South Dakota and relocated to Minnesota during high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Political Science and earned his MBA at Strayer University in Virginia.

Scott’s overarching career goals were to engage in meaningful work and help others. He succeeded in these goals, serving others through his work with the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, March of Dimes and in a 20 plus year career in the transfusion medicine industry. His career choices also offered him the opportunity to explore other parts of the world, including Finland, Philippines, Czech Republic and China.

After leaving the great state of Minnesota, Scott lived in several areas of the country ultimately residing in St. Louis. Here, he was able to put is lifelong Cardinals fan status to good use and was involved in many community activities. He served on the Board of Directors for the Monsanto Family YMCA and was an active member of the Rotary Club of St. Louis and Bethel Lutheran Church. Scott was also a proud alumnus of FOCUS St. Louis. He enjoyed attending sporting events, concerts, plays, local festivals, air shows and bowling league, and was most happy when around his children and grandchildren. Scott was known as someone who would always listen, lend a hand and be there when you needed him. He left this world a better place. He will be greatly missed.

Scott is survived by his wife Laure, his children Eric (Emily) and Anna (Pete), his grandchildren, Caswell, Bridget, Lydia and Charlie, his brother Greg (Kay), dear cousins, uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews and an incredible network of friends. Scott is preceded in death by parents Loren and Carol (Minor) Caswell.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 25, at 10:30 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, 7001 Forsyth Boulevard, St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children at https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/.
