Obituary for John Andrew Dignam

John Andrew Dignam
Dignam, John A., 76, of Maryland Heights, MO, died Friday March 9, 2018. John was the beloved husband of Rosemary Dignam (nee Christ), and beloved father of Maria (Pete) Shuleski, John (Tracy) Dignam, Pat (Trish) Dignam, Chris (Leah) Dignam. Dear grandfather to Gabrielle, Lauren, Colleen, Basil, Ryan, Elwyn, and Remo Dignam.

Though born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1941, John grew up in St. Louis, MO. He attended Annunciation Catholic grade school in Webster Groves, and then graduated from DuBourg High School in 1959. In addition to attending the University of Dayton, John was in the Army reserves for 6 years. John enjoyed a 33-year career as a salesman in the plastics industry, and had been retired for the last 15 years.

John's greatest success was in his 54 year marriage to Rosie. They started dating when they were 15 years old, and his devotion to her has never wavered. After four children and multiple homes in 3 states, John and Rosie stayed an amazing role model of marriage and true love.

John deeply loved his children, and was selfless in providing for his family. He was also a loyal friend, and maintained dozens of relationships from his early years in Webster, his homes in Buffalo and Chicago, and from over 30 years in St. Charles, MO. His ready smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services: Visitation will be held at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood, Missouri from 4 - 8 pm, on Tuesday, March 13. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, March 14, 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 1264 Arch Terrace, Richmond Heights, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery following.
