Obituary for Jack G. Sarris

Jack G. Sarris, 85, passed peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 13 ,2018. He was born to George and Tasia Sarris on September 13, 1932 in St. Joseph, MO. Loving husband to the late Ruth Ann (Crump), he was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John Sarris and Gus Sarris; and sister Mary Neufeldt.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children; Steven (Kathleen), Paul (Tabitha), Susan (Scott), Ann (Steven) Deddens, and Jacqueline (James) Waechter, along with his grandchildren: Joshua, Faith, Caroline, Hope, Ethan, Harrison, Caleb, Jack, Mason, Jacob, George, Isaac, Ruthie, and Olivia; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jack served in the Army during the Korean war and was an educator and coach for many years at Normandy Senior High School. He was an active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and always willing to help out anyone in need.

Visitation is at Bopp Chapel on Sunday, March 18, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Trisaigon at 7:00 PM. Services will be held Monday, March 19 at 9:30 AM at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church (1755 Des Peres Road, Town and Country, MO 63131). Burial with full military honors to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
