Obituary for Helen Marie DeVasto (Bredall)

Helen Marie DeVasto (Bredall)
Helen Marie DeVasto (nee Bredall), age 100, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, died peacefully in her family home on Monday, August 6, 2018. Born December 13, 1917 she was a lifelong resident of Kirkwood and devout member of St. Peter’s Church. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Paul DeVasto. She is survived by all nine of her children: Dennis DeVasto, Francine (Lynn) Proffer, Raymond (Carol) DeVasto, Kathleen Quick, Daniel DeVasto, Niel (Ellen) DeVasto, Dianne (Paul) Shapiro, Mary Callahan, and Anthony (Mary Beth) DeVasto; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Helen was caring and nurturing, always family her first thought; she was truly a matriarch. Her quick wit and beautiful smile that we loved so well will always be remembered. She gave us a century of love and wisdom and will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral Mass 10:00am Saturday, August 11, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne Dr., Kirkwood, MO 63122. Interment St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of donor’s choice or masses.
