Rosemary Christ Dignam, 76, of Maryland Heights, MO, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Rosemary "Rosie" was the beloved wife of the late John A. Dignam, and mother of Maria (Pete) Shuleski, John (Tracy) Dignam, Patrick (Trish) Dignam, Christopher (Leah) Dignam. Dear grandmother to Gabrielle, Lauren, Colleen, Basil, Ryan, Elwyn, and Remo Dignam.

Rosie was born and raised in Maplewood, MO. She attended Little Flower grade school, graduated from St. Joseph Academy, and completed her Bachelor of Arts in English literature with minors in theater, theology, and teaching from Webster University.

Rosie was an amazing example of how to live a life of love. Her faith was unwavering, and as a devout Catholic, she found peace, comfort, and great strength in the rituals of the Church. It was through her prayers that she made her mark on this world, and how she showed her true character. In fact, for many years, for those who knew Rosie best, it was always a great comfort to know that your concerns were on her "prayer list." Rosie never spoke judgmentally about anyone, she only expressed concern. For her, every person, no matter how confused, simply needed more prayers.

Rosie's love was also romantic. At the age of 15, just after she met John, she went to church and prayed that someday she could be with a man just like John Dignam. Soon after, when he asked her out, she then spent the next 61 years by his side, and John and Rosie stayed an amazing role model of marriage and true love.

Rosie was never happier than when she was around the people she loved. Her greatest joy came from her four children, their spouses, and her seven grandchildren. As a stay-home-mom, Rosie instilled her children with the values of Catholicism, education, and fine arts. And most importantly, she was a moral compass for her family.

Rosie was also a true friend. All were greeted with a big smile, a warm hug, and a kiss on the cheek. Her friends spanned back to grade school, high school, & college in St. Louis, as well as the many friends she made as an adult in Buffalo, NY, Chicago, IL, and St. Charles, MO. In addition, her children's friends became her friends. Regardless of age, when people wanted to talk, Rosie was there to listen. She was an empathetic listener, who shared thoughtful words of wisdom, and made us laugh with her delightful sense of humor.

Visitation will be held at Bopp Chapel 10610 Manchester Road Kirkwood, Missouri at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 13. Funeral mass will be conducted on Tuesday, August 14, at Little Flower Church at 12 noon, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery following.
