Obituary for Karl H. Lemp Sr.

Karl H.  Lemp Sr.
Lemp, Karl H. Sr., age 88, Mon., Aug. 13, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. (nee Harrington), dear father of Karl Jr. and John L. (Jennifer), dear grandfather of Jacqueline Lemp, Bridget Lemp, Rachel Lemp and John W. Lemp, dear brother of Louis of New York City, and the late John F. Lemp, Jr., (Barbara, surviving); dear son of the late John F. Lemp, Sr. and Norma Lemp of Alton, IL., dear uncle of Kathleen Mansker, Judy Graham, Frank Le Beau, Jr.; George Lemp, Victoria Weavil, Joel E. Lemp, dear great-uncle and friend.

Karl attended Shurtleff College in Alton, IL, and was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and later in the Reserves, rising to the rank of Captain and working as an Intelligence Officer. Following the war, he joined D’arcy Advertising Agency. He worked with them for 45 years, rising to the position of Vice-President in charge of Print Production. Karl worked with D’Arcy’s clients: Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola and others for many years, retiring in the late 90’s. He was a world-traveler, mostly enjoying travel to Europe and every one of the fifty states. He was a history buff, and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.

Funeral Thurs, 8/16, 11 am at Bopp Chapel, Kirkwood. Interment, St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Kirkwood. Visitation Wed. 4-8 pm.
