Obituary for Robert L. Harre

Robert L. Harre
Robert Lee Harre, 75, died peacefully at home Wednesday October 12, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louise Harre, his children Liz (Doug) Cauble and Peter (Linda) Harre; and his grandchildren Olivia and Julia Harre and Ben Cauble. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Lauson Harre and by his parents Melvin H. and Ethel (Friend) Harre.

Bob was born in Belleville, Illinois on February 21, 1941. He earned a BSBA and an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis where he met his wife Louise. To help with college expenses he played saxophone in a dance band and worked for a public accounting firm. He spent his career working in investment banking where he enjoyed building relationships with his colleagues and clients. During retirement he enjoyed travel for pleasure and to hunt for treasures for his and Louise’s various antique ventures. Bob was a master woodworker and could repair and build just about anything. His favorite roles in life were that of a husband to his bride, a father to his children, as Grandbob to his grandchildren whom he loved so much, and as a servant to his church.

Visitation Wednesday, October 19, 4 - 8:00 PM at BOPP Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Memorial service Thursday, October 20, 3 PM at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 110 N. Warson Rd. Ladue, Missouri. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church or to The Haven of Grace 1225 Warren Street, St. Louis, MO 63106.
