Obituary for Robert Joseph Heggie

Heggie, Robert J. “Joe” on Sun., Feb. 5, 2017. Beloved husband of Mary Etta Heggie (nee Johnson); dear father of Robert M. (Jean) Heggie, Joseph (Nanette) Heggie and John (Corinne) Heggie; loving grandfather of Baxter, Claire, Jack, Paul and Teddy; dear brother of Susan Tinsley; nephew of John Alden. Our dear uncle, cousin and friend.

He was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church where he served several terms on the Vestry. He served as Board of Director for SPROG and as a volunteer with Rebuilding Together. He enjoyed Wednesday Morning Men’s breakfast. He was a lifetime softball player and coach, and a Scout Master. After retiring as a human resource manager with several prominent local industries, he became a respected federal arbitrator. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the camaraderie that came with hunting and fishing.

Memorial service Thurs., Feb. 9, 4:00pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 514 E. Argonne Dr., Kirkwood with reception following. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SPROG, PO Box 220274, Kirkwood, MO 63122 or Grace Episcopal Church.
