Condolence From: Chris Long
Condolence: On behalf of the Longs, to Don, Mark, Lucy, Dean, Dan, and all the Waldemers; we offer our condolences on Jean’s passing. She was a great friend to us, had such a warm-hearted spirit, a wonderful gentle laugh, such kind eyes. And vibrant red hair – back in the day.
Over the years, Don and Jean attended parties at our house, and it was always easy to spot them. She had the bright red hair, and quiet (for the moment) demeanor, and Don would be nearby, laughing loudly, which seemed to always amuse her.
I witnessed the Prisms needlepoint business evolve. This was an entrepreneurial endeavor by Priscilla Gunn, Jean, and my mother, Janet.
Later, Jean started playing golf with Dean, and I, and my mother at Westpar, Ruth Park, and other courses in the area. She took golf very seriously if memory serves me well.
After my wife and I got married, and moved to Florida, we would call when in St. Louis, and stop by and see Jean and Don for short visits. When she obtained a computer, I got an email from her, and that started an exchange that went on sporadically for years.
She was such a nice friend. So intelligent, funny, and always interested in the person she was talking to. We pray that the Waldemers be comforted in their loss, and all of the memories fill your hearts with love and smiles.
