I've thought of Brett every day since I heard the news, and even now I don't know what to say, but I want to say something. Brett was one of my dearest brothers, and his passing shook me to the core. We labored together both inside and outside the churches. To think that I will never again hear him speak of the scriptures this side of glory brings me to tears. I can hear his voices cry in my head as clear as if he were present, even now. As with many, he often exhorted me by my full name... I'll always remember that. I remember verbatim parts of sermons preached in the shelter, and lamentations lifted up to our Lord on the phone. As long as the Lord lends me breath, I will dearly miss my friend and brother.
