This morning, I recall the impact (of meeting) Brett Cost left on my life. Conversations at Starbucks and our last at The Bread Company. Julia, my dear sister in Christ the times we spent time together, laughing praying, lifting each other and our children up in prayer. Dear God, you knew even then. You're the Alpha and Omega. It still saddens me to think of Brett because I will miss the opportunity to sit and soak in Gods Word listening and learning from Him. But I'm uplifted to know the grace and blood of Jesus covers Brett,"Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hęll can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord". Brett, introduced me to Reformed theology, haven't turned back aince :) he even provided specific teachers and leaders, (like Ligonier Ministries) to lean an ear to. A funny joke, I ran down a list of the preachers to Brett who to me, were reputable teachers, I felt like it was good teaching. But good ole Brett, his response plays in my mind often and makes me laugh, for every one I named he said, "he's not the worst, but you can do better than that". Then I name Paul Washer and he was pleased lol. Brett was never ashamed of the gospel. We would end every meeting in prayer. His life changed mine. His zeal, and bold spirit will be missed but by God's grace his memory will be used towards the Glory of God and His kingdom! Thank you Lord for Brett, Juila and their sons. The prayers of the righteous availeth much, God's word doesn't return void and his will will be done. Soar high, in peace and rest my friend, until next time.
